Ladd's Addition

These photos were taken in and around Ladd's Addition, which is an inner southeast neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. It is Portland's oldest planned residential development. The neighborhood is known in Portland for a diagonal street pattern, which is atypical of the surrounding area. It is bordered by SE Hawthorne, Division, 12th, and 20th streets. The neighborhood is named after William S. Ladd, a former Portland mayor, who also once owned most of the property that is now known as Laurelhurst. Ladd’s Addition was subdivided for residential use in 1891.
